DIY a hand painted gift box with me

A hand painted box- simple strokes, bright colors and a cute gift is ready!

Feeling artsy?

Let's get started with a very easy art, and within an hour or two you will be ready with a cute keepsake or a thoughtful hand made gift.

Things you will need

  • A wooden box
  • Acrylic Paints color of your choice
  • Paint brush
  • Gems
  • Acrylic Markers
  • Sealant/ mod podge

Choose a base color and paint the box, once it dries you can decide if you need another coat and once your base color is smooth and dry, begin your art.

Pick an easy design or your choice, I used a paint brush to do simple strokes to make these flowers and markers to make the vines and leaves.

I love gems so added some you can do glitter too or just leave it with painted design too. It looks equally beautifully.

Work in progress !

Use acrylic markers to create some vines, dots or any other pattern, design that goes with the theme of your art.

I use Posca markers, they really do a great job and don't bleed while painting as well as goes well with any sealant that goes at the end as your final step!

Posca markers come in different sizes fine to thick, so they can be used for fine lines or thick outlining too.

For the base color of the box, any acrylic paint is fine there's so many types and brands in the store, the difference in different brands are that some types need extra layers, for the perfect look.

I used this one for the flowers!

 .

I used wood glue for the gems and they stay perfect! I have used it for several projects.

Once your art and design is complete use a sealant or mod podge to paint over the entire box to give a beautiful shiny and complete look!
